Heavy Civil Contracting Services

Heavy Machinery working on surfacing mining

Surface Mining Construction

A form of mining that involves excavating the surface of an area to recover valuable minerals and materials. The process requires stripping away a layer of the Earth’s surface, typically with heavy machinery such as bulldozers and large haul trucks.

  • Open pit mine building
  • Tailings
  • Haul roads
  • Remediations

Crushing & Screening

An integral part of heavy civil contracting, this process involves breaking down large pieces of material into smaller, more manageable sizes. The material is then passed through a series of screens that separate the material by size.

  • Creating aggregate materials such as gravel, sand, and crushed stone
  • Crushed rock for quarries, mine ore, road bed materials

Earth Works

Earth works involve the excavation and grading of large areas of land in order to create a flat, level surface ready for construction. The process is typically done with heavy machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, and backhoes.

  • Digging foundations
  • Creating drainage systems
  • Roadworks such as asphalt paving or concrete pouring

Work in Hard Rock

The process typically involves drilling and blasting the hard rock material in order to break it down into a size suitable for use in construction projects. This type of work requires specialized equipment, knowledge, and experience to ensure that the job is done safely and effectively.

  • Granite/Hard Rock
  • Operating rock drill for blasting in quarries
  • Operating crusher to produce usable material in mine sites

Specialized/Difficult Work in Remote Locales

Whether the location can only be accessed by winter road, plane, or through Hudson Bay, our team has the experience and expertise to work in these remote locales. Most of the time, these locations have no municipalities or even cell reception and are surrounded by hard rock, making the project more challenging.

  • Ring of Fire road
  • Shutting down mine sites
  • Mcdowell Lake Remediation – fly in / winter road access only
