750mm Watermain Crossing the Kaministiquia River at Hwy 61
LTL Directional Drilling supplied and installed 400m of 750mm dia. HDPE DR11 across the Kaministiquia River at Hwy 61. We utilized a Vermeer 15-*300 directional drill with a 6000 gal mud recycler and a 600gpm mud pump. This project required 10 days of consecutive drilling with pullback pressures reaching a maximum 169,000 lbs. through a sand seam. The final hole opened up with a 36" dia. fly-cutter reamer. The weight of the product pipe being installed was approximately 121,000 lbs.
